We left the civilised areas, and went into "Finderup Excercisearea" last tuesday morning.
The weatherforecast was horrifying, and the plan was to have 3 days out in the open, facing several different challenges as individual soldiers.

It was a great experience, now when it's all done and over with. But i tell you it was hard on an 'old family father' as myself. The 4 young men that have just finished beeing private's was pulling an unimaginable high load most of the time, without complaining even once... not in my wildest imagination can i figure out where they got the energy to withstand the physical pressure they more or less put themself under at several ocasions... All in all everybody supported the group in a way that made us all come through with a good result. Thats what the debriefing from the instructors let us know :-)

We was put through a lot of 'reaction-tracks' to test our skills as solo-fighters. The tracks was packed with events that we had to react correct upon. These tracks was quite ok, but the waiting time in between was quite annoying due to the wind and low temperatures.

Wedensday we was put on an 'orientation march' - sounds easy right!? The march had 4 posts we had to get to, to solve some radiocommunication-excercises. There was approximately 1Km in a straight line between the posts. But what made the march a real energy/muscle killer was that we had to carry ALL our gear, wich add up to about 35 to 40 Kilo!!
My buddy and me used ~3 hours to get through... i tell you - i could fly when i got the load off my back when we reached the finishline after that little walk in Finderup :-§

Next week is exam for 'skytte-tjeneste' wich i translate to "solo-fighter skills"... lets see how that comes out ;-)
