She's just turned 6, and have been losing her milkteeth for some month. Then yesterday evening, when i was brushing her teeth with great care not to touch the current loose tooth, she suddenly stopped me and looked very seriously at me while saying:

"Daddy - i am very tired of that tooth! It's annoying to have it sitting there, always in the way and hurting when i eat and stuff! - Please pull it out!"

I made a small pause thinking about what she just said... the tooth was quite loose, but not as loose that it could be pulled without some amount of pain, so i asked her if she was sure about that, since it might hurt!? She the told me that she had thought about it since we had dinner, and had decided while i was brushing her teeth, that it should be pulled out now! I talked a little more with her about it, and at some point she just said:

"Come on Dad - it's my tooth, and i want it out now - it's hard to fall asleep with it too!"

So - there i was, cornered... I actually didn't feel good about pulling her tooth, since it would most probably cause her pain, making her cry and stuff. But i could see that she was as determined as i have never before seen her, so i gave in and we finished up brushing.

Then i washed my hands thoroughly, took a Kleenex and wiped the tooth and my hands dry, and told her to open her mouth up as much as she could, got a good hold on it, and pulled hard...
It was as i expected not as loose as i would like it to be, but the motion was started, and i pulled it out. There was a sound like when sinew snaps, and then i stood with the tooth between my index finger and thumb.

I immediately looked at Kaya, and expected to at least see tears in her eyes - but she just smiled back at me and said: "There you see Dad - that was no problem - please tug me in now!"
I had to discreetly lean against the restroom table and grab myself a little, before moving on...

My daughter shure is a tough little girl!
